How to make «karaoke». Homemade microphone for «karaoke»

Modern audio and video equipment is often capable of performing the functions of «Karaoke». The video player «Karaoke», for example, not only reproduces the musical soundtrack of the song through the TV, but also displays the words of the song synchronously on the screen with a running line. So anyone who wants to become a star can sing a song; to enhance the singing voice, the Karaoke video player has a pair of sockets for connecting microphones. That is, with the help of a TV, a voice from a microphone with musical accompaniment will be played.

Of course, we need special tapes with the recording of «karaoke», but it's not very difficult to buy them now. It is very useful when learning foreign languages to perform «Karaoke» with foreign hits, since their texts are based on common household words and turns of speech, which allows you to quickly and permanently memorize a lot of words.

By the way, do I need to buy a Karaoke video player if, for example, I already have a video recorder? Of course, it's not necessary at all. The simplest «Karaoke», in essence, means that the equipment is capable of reproducing both a phonogram and sound through a microphone at the same time when it is connected. So, even in the widespread electrophone «Accord», it is quite simple to enter a mode of operation close to «Karaoke». A simple modification will ensure that the signal from the remote microphone is superimposed on the reproduced phonogram, and this in most cases is quite enough to achieve the desired effect.

How to make a «karaoke» from an electrophone «Accord»

The easiest way is to upgrade the electrophone of the first releases («Chord» without digital additions), which does not have an emitter repeater at the input of the UHF.

The revision is as follows. An additional connector X1 — socket SG-5 is installed on the body of the electrophone (Fig. 1), which serves to connect the microphone. Its terminals are connected by wires (preferably shielded) to the input circuits of the amplifier. Connecting conductors in order to avoid leads are trying to make as short as possible.

When you need to get the «Karaoke» mode, an electronic microphone MKE-3 is connected to the connector, the power supply voltage (4.5 V) necessary for its operation comes from the amplifier of the electrophone through pins 4 and 2. The resistor R1 is installed additionally, its purpose is to reduce the shunting of the input circuits of the amplifier with a relatively low output resistance microphone.

It should be noted that the sensitivity of conventional electrodynamic microphones is too small to «rock» the standard amplifier of the electrophone, which is why we will have to build a homemade one based on the MKE-3 capsule, which has very suitable electroacoustic data for this purpose. Note that most domestic cassette recorders are equipped with such built-in microphones. A suitable plastic case is selected for the microphone capsule. It is most convenient to place the capsule in the case of a faulty microphone, for example, from the MD-282. It is not difficult to make a homemade microphone housing (Fig. 2). It will be based on a plastic tube with a diameter of about 20 mm, at one end of which an adapter washer is fixed, cut out of plywood with a thickness of 8...10 mm. As a protective cap, a tea strainer is suitable, which determines the outer diameter of the washer.

The antennae of the plastic clip, in which the MKE-3 capsule is located, are fixed with small screws on the washer. The terminals of the MCE-3 capsule are slightly shortened, multi-core insulated mounting wires are soldered to two of them (red and white), placed in shielding braids, which are connected to the remaining free (blue) terminal of the capsule.

Wires with a screen are passed into a suitable PVC tube. The resulting cable is removed through a hole in a wooden plug, having previously wound a thread bandage on the cable, preventing the cable from pulling out of the plug. At the end of the cable, the mating part of the connector is soldered — the SH-5 plug, the conductors are desoldered according to the scheme shown in Fig. 3.

Connect a microphone to the microphone and check its operation. Using a gramophone record, for example, with the recording of the Melody ensemble, we sing the selected song accompanied by the Garanyan orchestra. If it is possible to play Karaoke videotapes, an electrophone is placed next to the video player and when the music sounds and the right words appear, they sing, amplifying the voice with a microphone connected to the electrophone.
